Information about arrival outside of arrival week (OLD)

If you arrive outside of the arrival week we will not be able to pick you up at the airport, train station or bus station. You have to make your way to the university on your own (see instructions below). When you fill out the arrival form you have to tick the box for a special appointment to pick up your key since our office will not be manned. This you make at the end of the form.
We will have two times per day when you can pick up your key at our office, one in the morning and one in the evening (not later than 9 pm). We will make the schedule once we have everyones arrival details and send it to you.
How to get from the airport to the university
Bus: There is a bus from the airport to town after every flight. You find it just outside the airport. Luleå airport (Kallax) is a small airport there are no long distances to walk. The bus from the airport will normally take you all the way to the university. The stop nearest our office is "Porsö Centrum".
Sometimes in the evening only every second bus from the airport will go all the way to university. If this is the case you can go to the city centre "Smedjegatan" and change bus.
From "Smedjegatan" you can take bus 4, 5, 6, 7 or 14 to get to the university. The stop nearest our office is "Porsö Centrum".
To go by bus to the university costs about 25 SEK and take 30-60 minutes depending if you have to wait in town or not. A ticket is valid for 1,5 hour.
Taxi: There are always plenty of taxis waiting outside the airport. Tell them you are a student and you will receive 15% discount. Tell them to go to building C at the university, entrance C11. Stil sportcenter has a big poster above this entrance. A taxi from the airport to the university with student discount costs about 450-500 SEK and takes about 20 minutes, you can go 4 people together. If you travel alone you can book a shared taxi in advance at flygtaxi.se. With student discount a seat in a shared taxi costs about 180 SEK.
Make your way to building C, entrance C11, see map. (From "Porsö Centrum" you just need to cross the street to get to building C.) StiL sportcenter has a big poster above this entrance. Our office is down the hall and to the left, next to a big atrium with a lot of sofas. Look for signs saying LURC.

When you arrive at the university you will receive some important information, sign the housing contract and get your keys. Afterwards we will give you directions to your accommodation and help you order a taxi if you want one. This taxi will cost about 120 SEK.
