Sending packages
I was wondering that if I send a package beforehand is it collected by the university or do I have to collect it by myself? And is it okay if I send a package so that it is handled in Sweden by Bussgods AB?

Re: Sending packages
If you want to send a parcel before going to Luleå you can send it to the University. Limit 10 kg. Items should be addressed:
your name
c/o International Office
Lulea University of Technology
SE-971 87 Lulea
SWEDEN
If you send by post it will be delivered to the university and you can pick it up at the International Office.
If you send with Bussgods AB use the same address but don't order home delivery. After you have arrived you can pick up the packing slip at the University and pick up the parcel yourself. You save money and it is as easy to pick up the parcel at Bussgods as at the University. Bussgods AB is located in the same building as the Bus Station, see map. As far as I know Bussgods AB only has international delivery to and from Finland, Berlin and Copenhagen.

Re: Sending packages
I have some problems because I have to bring with me a lot of luggage.
Is it possible to send a parcel that weights more than 10 Kg or it is it strictly binding ?

Re: Sending packages
No it is not strictly binding, it is merely practical. Until you pick up your package we have to store them in our offices and space is limited. Keep it within reason, please.

Re: Sending packages
As our mailboxes are small, can we send packages at the international office after we have arrived too (the whole year)?
If not, what happen for packages too big for our mailboxes ?
Thank you.

Re: Sending packages
No after you have arrived packages should be sent to your address.
If the package is too big for the mailbox and handled by the swedish postal service it will be delivered to the nearest supermarket (Konsum at Björkskatan and ICA at Porsön). You will receive a note in your mailbox when your package is available to pick up.

I would have to throw out my chair and sit on it so... yeah to big.
Once you are here you could send it to your new address.

Could I send a package to my future address in Luleå before I leave from home?

Re: Sending packages
Yes you could, but just a few days before. You need to make sure you arrive before the parcel to put your name sticker on the mailbox.
Street address is enough, floor and room number is not necessary. There is a board in each building with who lives where. If this list is not yet updated when you arrive you can update it yourself.
